Our Services
Brighter Day strives to support all Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) waivers available through the State of Oklahoma. Individuals need to apply directly through the state, but dedicated experts at BD are always available to answer any questions to help support families and participants through the process.
Daily Living Supports
Daily Living Supports (DLS) is a program designed to create opportunities for individuals to be as independent as possible in their daily living routine. DLS also facilitates connection through community integration and socialization with peers. Individuals approved for DLS typically live with two housemates and have an agency responsible for meeting their daily care and medical needs. The providers care is tailored to each individuals needs and interest and often includes outings and other ways to explore interests and discover joy in community connection.
In-Home Supports Waiver
In-Home Supports Waivers (IHSW) were created in 1999 in response to the continually increasing numbers of individuals with developmental disabilities on the waiver waiting list for extended periods of time. These capitated waivers allow individuals and families to select services necessary for each individual to remain in his or her own home or family home. Individuals on the IHSW are assigned to DDS case managers to assist them in locating, securing, and coordinating needed services.
Non-Residential Community Waiver
Non-Residential Community Waiver (Comm Non-Res) serves individuals whose needs are greater than what the in-home support waiver can support. There is not a waiver cap for services as it is a needs based offering.
Agency Companion Services
Agency Companion Services (ACS) is a program designed to support adults who need a shared living arrangement to safely live in the community. ACS is provided in the home of the companion who is contracted with a provider agency. The companion is responsible for meeting the daily care, medical needs, and provide opportunities for community integration.
